SciBout is designed for students in grades 6–12, many of whom are under 13. For that reason, registration is completed only by a parent, guardian, or teacher, who provides consent on the student's behalf. We do not create student accounts and do not collect student email addresses. This is how we comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
The student's first name and last initial, grade band (6–8 or 9–12), and country; the registering adult's email address and role; and payment records. Payment is processed entirely by PayPal — we never see or store card numbers or bank details.
To keep the competition fair we record test-session integrity data: answer timestamps, focus/full-screen events, and input activity. With the registering adult's explicit consent, the webcam takes a small number of low-resolution snapshots during the test. Snapshots are used only for integrity review of flagged results and award verification, are never published or shared, and are automatically deleted within 30 days of the test.
We do not sell or share personal information, run advertising, use tracking cookies, or build profiles. Certificate verification pages show only the student's first name and last initial, division, track, and award tier.
Registration and results records are kept so certificates remain verifiable. The registering adult may request a copy or deletion of their student's data at any time by emailing contact@scibout.com. Deletion invalidates any associated certificates.
